Deeply influenced by my habit of writing to myself, I created this film to capture the beauty of self-confrontation and also the way personal memories allow us to reconnect with different stages of our lives.

I met the actress while working as a DoP and camera operator on another project. She seemed like the perfect choice for the role of Angela, so I invited her to join and, together, we embarked on an incredible journey to tell this story with honesty and sensitivity. I was also involved in the film’s editing process, assembling the footage, shaping the montage, and deciding what made the final cut to bring it as close as possible to the vision I had while writing it.

As a director, I aimed to build an atmosphere that immerses the audience in the character’s sense of displacement, while showing how rediscovering who we are can ultimately shape who we become.

Another role I took was 1st Assistant Director, my job was to ensure that the director’s ideas were done to the best of my ability. I operated with a Sony camera, ensuring proper framing, focus and light exposure throughout each shot. I was led by the director of the group and focused on making sure the protagonist looked clear throughout each shoot. I arranged and booked a few lenses for the scenes to show different styles and points of view. This required a lot of preparation and communication on set at all times.

Production Assistant and Gaffer

Rachel Brebner

As gaffer my role was to ensure the lighting was set for each scene and take. Ensuring that it was set safely to make sure there was no dangers for the actors or crew. Another role I had was the clapper loader.

This was to ensure the sound and picture matched when it came to editing. Especially when recording with external mics. During filming, I was also an extra pair of hands incase any other crew members needed any extra help within their roles or any equipment that they were using. Ensuring a fantastic crew to help the directors vision come to life.
